The ASU Herbarium has over 900 collections designated as types (including paratypes).
In 2001, Stefanie M. Ickert-Bond and Donald J. Pinkava published "Vascular Plant Types" in
the Arizona State University Herbarium." It can be found in Sida 19(4): 1039-1059.
The ASU Herbarium is a partner in the Latin American Plants Initiative
(LAPI), an
international consortium of herbaria working to create a coordinated database of information and images of the plants of Latin
America. With support from the Mellon Foundation, partner organizations capture data and create high resolution digital images
of Latin American and other type specimens from their collections. The goal of the LAPI project is a self-sustaining resource
that an international community of scholars can access via the World Wide Web. The LAPI project is complete for the ASU types and images and data are available at ALUKA who is hosting the high resolution scans. Lower resolution images are available at
SEINet.
